The historical society has a variety of printed documents/resources that can be viewed during the Historical Society’s hours on Sunday and Thursdays or by special appointment.

Two books of interest that are available on line and at History Center:

  • History of Stanislaus County by George Henry Tinkham, published 1849 with biographical sketches of the leading men and women of the county who have been identified with its growth and development from the early days to the present.
  • History of Merced County by J. Carlyle Parker in 1881 with biographical sketches of prominent citizens with illustrations, etc.
